Prevent blood loss and support during surgeries

Tourniquets are valuable medical assets employed in life-threatening limb injuries. As such, they also help during surgery, providing a clear area to operate on during the procedure. However, the use of a tourniquet can also come with risks, and so the person applying it must be trained in the proper tourniquet first aid, such as placement, duration of use, removal and documentation. Select the best Tourniquets for your needs from Seton today.

Tourniquets can be generally classified in two variants, which are emergency and surgical tourniquets. Surgical tourniquets come in two basic designs: nonpneumatic tourniquets, which are noninflatable, and pneumatic tourniquets. Pneumatic tourniquets are manufactured with a device which allows regulated entry of gas into an inflatable cuff. They have proven to be more convenient and safe, and are more commonly used today. Emergency tourniquets are usually comprised of available cloth and a loose stick, and are often viewed as a last resort to prevent severe blood loss.
